Making the beds

I've had these bunkbeds in my mind for three years, and consequently I've had the boys sleeping on the couch or on mattresses on the floor for far too long. The idea is a response to their insatiable desire to climb things and to hoard things. The ladders are metaphorical trees and each bunk has a hideyhole for special items. The beds each have a bookshelf at the foot end and a reading light at the head.
They took six days to build (my own creation story) and cost about $500 plus I owe my friend Nate a beer.
