Away From Home exhibition
Sunday, August 28th, 2011 - 7:13 AM America/Chicago
Every year, for the last three years I have led groups of students and recent graduates from the American Academy of Art on a painting trip. It began as an idea that I might share something of my approach to gathering material for my work, but it has become a distinct group of young men and women who are building accountability to each other, sharing their thoughts and their critique with one another, communicating regularly and now exhibiting together in the first of a series of exhibitions of their work.
The Sons of Turner.
A group of painters and illustrators who are talented, driven, curious, connected and at the beginning of the long road ahead. And me, no longer their teacher at the Academy, but not quite able or willing to let go.
Come on out to Ontarioville to see what we've been doing.
